I would wait for 1 year before buying it. Right now the PS3 doesn't have many games and the hardware has a lot of bugs.

I'd hold off and wait for the inevitable price drop. The PS3 is readily available everywhere, which is pretty troubling for a console that just came out. With a $600 price tag, and quite a few unsold PS3's justing sitting on store shelves, Sony's going to have to reduce the price to jumpstart sales.

Just wait a bit, and you will be rewarded with a cheaper console, and a decent line up of games. Right now, the PS3 is overpriced, and has a poor selection of titles to choose from.

Or.... you could just go buy an Xbox 360, and have a ton of fun right now.
