Hello,
(ANS) I heard a while ago that there has only been 2 days of total world peace in the last 2,000 years ( I dont know if thats actualy true or not?). So sadly, human beings have a dreadful track record when it comes to actual peace. Humans seem to have war or flighting of each other hardwired into our brains & psychies. We seem to have been fighting & killing each other since we came out of our caves at the end of the last ice age.
**I'm NOT very optimistic about the chances of world peace in the future either. Not when you have religious extremists who are prepared to blow themselves & everyone else to kingdom come. Without a second thought!!
**If such extremists are prepared to use conventional explosives and to fly planes into skyscrapers, what would they do with nuclear methods?? I'm quite sure they would be prepared to kill as many millions as they could in their insane global jihad.

I think there haven't been enough years in the 21st century yet that can make us decide whether true global peace has been given a chance or not. Looking back at the 20th century, however, I would say no. But then looking back any century, I can answer no again. It is a basic human trait to have war and killings.

If your term of "true global peace" means that no person was killed to a conflict between nations, than not in this century, not in the century before ... and so on.

Sadly no.
In fact there hasn't even been one day when the US hasn't been at war with some nation somewhere - at least for the last 50 years...

its impossible to have global peace like that. but i think in its spirit the day mahatma gandhi died and the day mother teresa died all felt that we should opt for peace

I think there was a tuesday in 2001 but I'm not exactly sure it is all kinda hazy.
