I really have no idea, but that's an interesting thing to contemplate.
I've always thought that a person struck with amnesia will be affected according to some spectrum, that is, their amnesia might be worse than another person's experiences with it.
The harsher cases I'll bet the person might even forget their sexuality, if only at first. I think there'll still be that attraction to others of the same sex, since that's not really much to do with the thought processes and such of the mind, but more about the biological and, to some degree, spiritual, tendencies and inclinations.
Some people forget their identities when struck with amnesia, but I think sexuality delves deeper than merely knowing your name and your history, it's about the tendencies of who and how you connect to other people.

sexual orientation isn't a "memory." you're hardwired for it. In those rare cases where there is a massive brain injury that causes a complete change in personality and everything else, perhaps, but the memory parts of the brain affected by most amnesias are not going to have that effect.

will a straight person forget that he or she is straight if they have amnesia? i'm no expert on the subject of amnesia, but i'm sure eventually they'll realise they are gay, unless something REALLY impactful has happened, seeing as most gays [we are excluding the wannabes] do not choose their sexual orientation but have it 'wired in' like their skin/hair colour, etc.

Possibly, but sooner or later, it's going to come back- namely, when they see an attractive person of the same sex and think "Ooh la la" or when they try to be sexual with the opposite sex and realize the feelings aren't there. They'd have to come out all over again, in that case.
But that's just forgetting that you're gay. Just because you don't happen to know/remember it doesn't mean it isn't there.

It's about attraction, not memory. Would a straight male no longer be attracted to girls should he have amnesia? No. Gay people would find people of the same gender sexually attractive regardless of their memories of previous attractions.

you cannot forget what sex you have feelings for. Your sexual identity does not go away with memory loss
