Every time Bush and co (and Blair) rant on about democracy, people should remember Guantanamo. The point about human rights is that they are universal, you can't pick and chose.

people watch Fox news and get brainwashed odviously it is totally wrong i notice people that apose your question thumbing down but not answering because they know your right.
whats more interesting is the 600 fema camps that have been built up and down the U.S these can hold 20,000 people each and were said to be used in crisis for example natural disasters .now they are being used to detain asylum seekers that have been refused there aplication . heres a video clip http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=5515356061137526953&q=texas+fema+camp of a fema camp in taylor texas where they are holding a familly.
they have been living in texas for 5 years paying there tax's doing well for them selves . they got refused asylum but before being told were raided at 5 in the morning and split up , the child that was born on US soil was taken into care . this is what the american people should be worried about but hey they eat there burgers watch fox news and sleep walk into WW3 without still having a clue. american people will be imprisoned in these camps for decent and free speech and the zombies will go along with it and call them traitors.
this was reported on last week.

you're right.. but i see that who controls guantanamo is more based on anger and revenge...
they held peoples in there with no charges over 3 years or something... when released America should see that they have created a new Anti-America or maybe a new Terrorist recruits..
every day America made us look down on them..

Yep, trying to be the world police hasn't worked, I wonder in 100 years time how people will look back on this decade? I wonder if Guantanamo will be thought of the same as the concentration camps of the Nazis, completly against human rights.

There are over 700 people incarcerated there, with only 10 actually convicted of any crime. But Bush has signed legislation preventing any of them from appealling their case.
It is appalling and outrageous.

Land of the free and home of the brave but all the braves are on reservations.
It is a White House and this suggests racist rulers or KKK.
Did not Hurricane Katrina expose the prisoners of the African Slave Trade who were left to die in New Orleans because they were of the wrong colour?
White House, White Supremacy!

Don't blame the USA for their top dog mentality. Blame the rest of the world for letting them get away with it.

It's against ALL American values of liberty, equality, and freedom -- Shame! Shame! Shame!
To detain people and NEVER to charge them with crimes is criminal = Bush is a criminal, and we are his pawns.
What a country!
