I have always been confused about this.people say tht there is a safe period for sex.that is around 10-12 days after the menses..now can anyone please tell me when do we start counting the days????????????????????i mean shall we start from the day when the bleeding period started or from the day when bleeding stopped.suppose menstural bleeding started on 1st of januray and ended on 5th of january.so will we start counting 10 days(safe period) from 1st jan or 5th jan.please dont confuse me more and answer if u r really sure

There is NO real safe period, unless, your periods are regular like 'clockwork'.
My advice would be to use an ovulation calender on the internet...just google 'ovulation calender'. It will prompt you to some questions regading the exact days of your period and you'll get daily alerts to let you know when you are fertile.
On that note, if you are very regular......you should count from the first day of your period (Jan 1st).

u should start counting the day from the day bleeding starts. if u have regular cycle of 30 days. safe period for intercourse is in between 1-12 and 18-30 day

If you count from the day the period started then you have 12 days of safe period.

It is bit risky. If you are very regular, the conceiving takes place between 10th and 15th day from the onset of your period. Rest of the days are suppsoed to be safe period. But, thereis always a risk tag on that. You have to take a chance.

There is no such thing as a safe period. It's concidered "safer" during a couple of days a month, but you can still get pregnant.
