Excuse my girly ignorance, I have a 5-Door 1998 S Reg 1.4 GLX with alloys. I'm not sure what pressure my tyres are supposed to be in order to check them. Can anyone help me with this please.

Many thanks

Louise

It should say on the door pillar or in the owners manual, don't go off what it says on the tire as this is a reference to the max weight for the tire at that given pressure and I'm sure your vehicle doesn't weigh as much as the max on the tire.

There should be a sticker on the door pillar, or maybe in the glovebox, if you don't have a handbook. Failing this, just ring a peugeot dealer, they'll tell you.

If some clown tells you it's on the tyre sidewall, it isn't - that's the pressure the tyre's been approved to, it's nothing to do with its fitment on your car.

LHB is right the tires are probably no longer factory stock and may take different pressure. Best to go with the rating on the tire it's self.

It is usually written on the tire itself, in real tiny print. Look for something that says max. load blah blah, max pressure blah blah, then you'll see 44PSI or 35PSI, etc. PSI is your pounds per square inch of pressure.

If you take to any tire shop the will put in 35psi. So I would say 35psi is good.
