The valet service jammed the clutch, broke the clutch rods and then jammed the starter trying to repeatedly drive it without a clutch. My car had to be towed from the lot and was in perfect condition upon arrival. They insisted that there was no reverse when I got there (ridiculous). Additionally they were rude, and the claims dept claims it can't pay me as it's a mechanical problem. There were security cameras. Building was an upscale Beverly Hills building mall and my car is a 1987 (but very clean.) Do I have a chance in small claims court?

If you can prove it, yes.

This would depend on two things:
- the terms you agreed to upon turning your car over to the valet (on the reverse of the ticket)
- how convincingly you can argue your case before a judge

The valet company had to pay for the damages incurred by your car. File it in the small claims court but be able to present strong evidence to point to their tortious acts.

Take it to court, not small claims court. Not only did they f-up your car, but they caused you physical and emotional difficulties in living a complete life. I'm sure you love that car and you used it to get to work, school, etc. Them stripping your clutch has and will cost you a lot of money.

Absolutely you can win. That valet service is responsible for ANYTHING that happens to your car while in their possession, and they know it. You may also look into suing the owner of the parking lot too.

only if you can prove your clutch was in perfect condition upon arrival. I don't think you can prove that the valet damaged it unless you have witnesses and/or video. just guessing.

You can. You obviously drove your car there and left it to them in working condition. I would sue for the towing charge too.
