I felt back then that a life in the military is where I'd end up.
I honestly thought I'd do 30 years, and that it would be purely combat arms (Ranger/ Airborne etc.)

Financial and Marital issues caused me to drop out of college shortly before my commissioning and I enlisted instead several years later in an effort to get enough money to finish college eventually.

I retired after 20 years of service four years ago and am quite content with how my life turned out. Although I never finished college I am on my way to doing now very shortly.

I never envisioned children, and I have two wonderful kids now both in college.

life's crule jokes, and the misery i live in on a public street where people who go to bars are all night,would i say my life is wasted, they say we become what we really want to become,
living in a ghetto tenement, no i did not envision this and around people who i do not want to live around,wish i were in another country, like of one of my nationalities, from scandinavia, living here in yonkers the bronx new york woodlawn section is misery, i wish i were somewhere away from catholics too,so to answer your question, my life is nothing like what i hoped or envisioned nor is it today, like that is right,how come these things and visions just don't come into existence, why not, sure wish i were out of these depressing people and around other nationalities other than irish and hispanic yeah, i could get someplace i am always getting robbed here from italians and the irish,they are such private jerks, could the democrats have something to do wth people being so unsuccessful

Honestly, no where near the same... I thought I would be some really rich guy who can afford to do anything and also I would be running some fortune company but it does not seem that way...
