Its a fruit powder that when you mix it with sugar and water you have a sort of tang. Do you know what TANG is or do we have to explain that to you too? You've never seen the big, red koolaid man??? OH YEAHHH!

Kool-Aid is a simple soft drink that has been around at LEAST since the 1950s in the U.S. It's just a flavored powder that's dumped into water; it's not carbonated, and sugar has to be added or it's SOUR. It's a kid's drink, as you might imagine; not bad on hot summer days with lots of ice, but not the drink of choice for very many people above the age of about 10 :-)

Kool-Aid was invented by Gerard and Edwin Perkins in Hastings, Nebraska. Its predecessor was a liquid concentrate called Fruit Smack. To reduce shipping costs, in 1927, Perkins discovered a way to remove the liquid from Fruit Smack, leaving only a powder. This powder was named Kool-Ade (and a few years later, Kool-Aid due to a change in government regulations regarding the need for fruit juice in products using the term "Ade"). Perkins moved his production to Chicago in 1931, and Kool-Aid was sold to General Foods in 1953.

It is a powdered drink mix that you mix with water and sugar to make a type of "ade" drink. It comes in many different flavors. It is actually good and economical to make. Each pack normally sells for about .20, you add only a cup of sugar and it makes two quarts of the drink. It also comes in a sugar free version and another version that is premix with the sugar included so all you add to that is water.

kool- aid is something like juice but in a powder form and u have to add water and sugar.

Lisa pretty much had the right answer. It is a drink packet, mostly in powder form. I would say it's probably about a teaspoon or so. You open the packet and pour it in a container and mix it with sugar and water. It's really good and it's been around forever!!

the most ghetto beverage around , its 2 cups sugar with packet of " Kool Aid " brand flavoring mixed in water. Best kind is Raspberry :) yummy yum yum :) some people even take it and dye their hair with it.
