I think it all started because of Napolean Dynamite. But it was weird, nerdy was cool. Does this logically make sense? What's your take?

The world is so weird yet some of the trends I like :] I thought that if you're weird in high school, you were more of a social outcast but if you're weird in society, people view you in a possibly positive way. yeah sorry ranting. :] I have never seen Napolean Dynamite but I think there's still somewhat of a trend on nerdiness. It doesn't really make sense but people do it anyways.

Napolean Dynomite was the worst movie I have ever seen, and I have seen Gigli. Being nerdy is cool, remember the show Freaks and Geeks, and the game show Beat the Geeks, I miss em.

Ummm Nerdy became cool in 2006 with Weird Al and his song 'White & Nerdy' and the Asian guy from Heroes. Other than that year, being a nerd was not cool.

Then it faded to black.... sorry that last question got me thinking about that phrase. Doesn't make much sense, anyways. Like being an ignorant thug. Slowly, America is regaining its senses.

I don't think that ever happened when I live. It all depends on where you live. The movie probably struck a larger audience in certain areas.

i myself am an avid believer in geek-chic!

although i find it depends on where you are in life- in highschool you can be an outcast, but at college/university/workplaces intelligence is, & should be, highly valued. as long as their not snobby little pricks about it.

edit: i've forgotten that american schooling has a completely different cultural system- but f*ck it. i like nerds.
