You make it sound it like there were a group of explorers looking for gay people.

Every literature of almost every civilisation in the world's history makes some reference (good, bad or indifferent) to gay people, so it's probably safe to assume that gay people have been around for hundreds of thousands of years, if not longer.

But gay people weren't called 'gay' until recently, sometime in the twentieth century. Also, the modern concept of a gay person didn't necessarily exist in more ancient cultures, as in Classical Greece.

I think it all started in the British Navy. Just kidding. If you study history you'll find that gay people have always comprised about ten percent of the population. The earliest record I can think of can be found in the book of Genesis 19.

I don't know..makes me think when was the first str8 person discovered? Adam or Eve, how do we even know they were'nt gay?

Homosexuality exists since prehistory, since Man is Man. In many society, before the Hebraic Law of “purity”, homosexuality was very well accepted.
