"Escape From The Planet Of The Apes" and "Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes" explained how the apes took over. Conquest is probably the best in the series of originals.

If you mean the original version of planet of the apes with the original ending then if that happened then it would be the fault of all of us .
In the Cuban Missile Crisis it very nearly came about.

I prefer the original with Charlton Heston but the new one wasn't too bad.
