Write the equation as it reads.
Dianne = (1 1/2) * Amy

But, Dianne = 9.

Therefore, 9 = (1 1/2) * Amy

Thus, Amy = 9 / (1 1/2)
= 9 / (3/2)
= 9 * 2 / 3
= 6 hours.

3/2 ▪ x = 9

3/2(2/3) ▪ x = 9 (2/3)

1 ▪ x = (9/1)(2/3)

x= 18/3

x=6= Amy needed 6 hours

ok

dianne took 1 1/2 or 3/2 that is equal to 9hours.

amy need 2/2 or 1

so..

3/2 = 9 hours
1 = 1/(3/2)* 9 hours
= 2/3*9
=6 hours
