Write the equation as it reads.
Dianne = (1 1/2) * Amy
But, Dianne = 9.
Therefore, 9 = (1 1/2) * Amy
Thus, Amy = 9 / (1 1/2)
= 9 / (3/2)
= 9 * 2 / 3
= 6 hours.

amy need 2/2 or 1
so..
3/2 = 9 hours
1 = 1/(3/2)* 9 hours
= 2/3*9
=6 hours
