It does change for the good of mankind like after the Liberation of Freedom back in world war two in planet of apes.
Just living human kind got themselves carried away when the dirty old men kick the butts of our creator and crowned themselves as the men who would be king in making a mess and monkey out of themselves in planet of apes.

War changes everything, and always will.

By what measure do you make this statement. Whilst it may be true since man picked up a stick and and turned it into a weapon against their fellow man it has solved problems.
The reason being that someone always wants more and will use force to make it happen.

Primo Levy: "There is always war."
Thomas Jefferson: "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
It is a de facto state of mankind; the human condition. You prepare for war; you don't create it.
