Absolutely. When teams like Louisville, Rutgers, and Boise State think they can run with the big dogs, it's time for a playoff. One game doesn't make a champion. Two-Thirds of the teams in the SEC would go undefeated in Boise State's conference. Yet Boise State would be lucky to go 5-5 in the SEC. Yeah, dump the BCS and let the playoffs roll.

No. The BCS is the only reason why people continue to talk about college football as passionately as they do now. It is an imperfect system but it creates a lot of hype. I just think there should be an optional "play-in" game. Michigan and Florida should've played each other first before the game against Ohio State and they need to stop having the BCS National Championship game a week into January. The game should be January 1st or 2nd and not the 8th. There is way too much rest time.

It was time to get rid of the BCS before it started. There should have been a playoff system like every other Division has. Maybe then, we could see who the best team really is. Maybe Boise St?

I dont think that anyone likes the BCS besides the colleges that are raking in BCS money. I get sick and tired of this non-sense about student athletes and who's number one. Its the only sport where its debated. First excuse was they didnt want athletes playing more than 10 games, well now they are playing up to 14, second excuse, they will miss school time, well they are playing Jan 8th...enough said there....cut the excuses...

They would have to include 16 teams.

I hear a lot of people calling for an 8 team playoff, but if they did that, Boise State wouldn't have even MADE the tournament this year, as they were ranked 9th in the final regular season AP and Coaches polls.

16 teams would mean 4 weeks of playoffs... when are these guys supposed to study??? LOL

Yes...16 team playoff utilizing current bowl games. The other bowls remain so some big ten and pac 10 teams can play post season

It was time to get rid of it years ago, every other NCAA sport does it tournament style and it works. The reason the B(C)S will be hesitant to change is because of the money they stand to lose.

Good suggestion. One problem. What do you put in its place? Do you -or anyone else - have a better suggestion? As much as I think the BCS system is flawed, it is probably the better of a few evils.

the people that head this poll are making way too much money of of it, so there's liittle chance of it being disposed of (although it does need to go, or at least tweak it to have better standards than "style point" in winning a game)

If they changed a few things, it'd prob'ly be a lot better for everyone involved.
