Here are some random thoughts. Perhaps some will help.
Teenagers may:
1. come from dysfunctional families.
2. be the targets of bullies.
3. suffer from low self-esteem for any number of reasons
4. run with the wrong crowd
5. have low grades which cause great anxieties
6. have a hard time concentrating
7. be going through puberty and raging hormones
8. doing drugs or alcohol
9. be really angry at things
10. addicted to any number of things including computer, tv, games, paintball, anime, etc.
11. immature
12. have no good role models
13. have a history of making poor choices

Now couple that with the fact that teenagers are required by law to attend school, have no job, be unable to take control of most things, already have a criminal record from previous offensives, have such low GPA that they feel overpowered and hopeless... What better reason for some of the issues that teenagers battle in their lives.
