The American governement consists of the largest grouping of hypocrites ever put together in one place. Is it not ironical that the very country which defends its wars and policies as being in the interests of democracy can hold 770 people in Guantanamo in its lifetime and only ever charge 10 of them? Is it not ironical that the very country which invades other countries who dare to posess nuclear weapons actually posess 10 000 of their own with over 400 stationed abroad and ready to fire at a moments notice? The only thing needed for the American goverment's unfair and undemocratic actions to continue is for the people who they supposidly serve to do nothing and blindly wait it out until the next elections. You need to realsie there are other peaceful ways to influence governent other then through elections.

They are held without sentence because they valuable information for one. The second reason is that they are not us citizens they are terrorists, insugents, or other combatants not following the rules that the world united have set under the Geneva Convention. They should be held for as long as needed. When I'm in Iraq fighting for freedom and saftey at home and as a marine I'd rather they rot in prison than have the chance to harm me or my loved ones. Everyone needs to learn that life isn't nice and if you don't fight back your going to be ran over!!!!

Good question. As far as I know, it is illegal to detain someone for long periods without charging them for a crime. So, technically, laws are being broken...

It's not just there. It's everywhere, even here in America. Tons of people go to jail and sit in jail for many many years before they actually get to go to trial. I think it's unfair, because everyone is entitled to a *fair and speedy* trial!

Speak for yourself. The world DO NOT CARE nor want to know these unlawful combatants. In fact some countries in the world cooperated with the US to arrest and deport these undesirable elements.

Maybe the same reason we put Japanese/Americans in prison camps in WWII. The passage of time does not necessarily make people smarter or kinder.

Because international laws are being broken. If they are judged and found guilty, ok., but otherwise, it should not happen
