I'm young and pretty lost about the details of the war. I want to know what is going on but I know that there is so much info involved with understanding the whole conflict. I'm looking for a book that will explain all that in laymans terms. I'd also like for it to be unbiased...I know liberals and conservatives would explain the war in very different ways. So does such book(s) exist?

I'm a good book right here. The only reason why Americans oppose the war is because of the so far outcome. We think it'll be another Vietnam. That is because we're stuck in the past.

The main reason I say for the Iraq war is to create stability of our coalition in the Middle East. Since Saddam was a fu*cked up dictator he was the easiest to obtain. We need a base in the middle east to stop the future possible terrorist attacks. So why don't we give those around the base and ability to vote for what they want? Even though they are going to oppose democracy because of religious beliefs... Which is totally acceptable to me.

It's a long drawn out war that could have ended with more troops. We underestimated the power of these bastards, and with that came the death of 3000 soldiers. The thing that people don't understand is if we don't send the 20,000+ troops we're going to lose more... I said it once... More eyes, less death.

When Americans say they oppose adding forces to Iraq they oppose a possible save of life. No one wants to go to war. It's just the Republicans understand that we have to go to war.

What is going to happen if we let 9/11 go unpunished really? Ever john Kerry would have retaliated. It's only obvious that we must make an attack back, but before we do that we want to secure ourselves... That is the reason for Iraq.

Read the Koran. It explains the fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Israel, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Spain, Chechnya, Bosnia, Algeria, Kosovo, Sudan, Philippines, Ethiopia, and Pakistan, to name a few current or recent conflicts.

I can think of many partisian books from either perspective. I would suggest starting by reading about the history of this region, how has the schizm between Shiite muslims and Sunni muslims influenced the political landscape. Learn about how the West has interacted with them. Do a little research on Saddam Hussein, where he comes from, what he did, who was he.

I hope some of these suggestions help you.
