They're not related, but I'm sure the resemblence is intentional. Ever notice how much Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble are like Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton on the "Honeymooners?"

I was watching an old (1937) Marx Brothers movie on New Year's Eve. Let's see, it was called.. oh I forgot, but it was a good one.
Anyway, I realized how MUCH Groucho Marx reminded me of Hawkeye Pierce (Alan Alda) in M*A*S*H... I wondered if maybe Alan Alda was actually trying to emulate Groucho during the M*A*S*H years.

Jackie Gleason's character (Ralph Kramden) on the Honeymooners and Carroll O'Connor's character (Archie Bunker) on All in the Family.
Both great actors and great shows.

How about Summer on 'The O.C.' and Jackie on 'That 70's Show'?
Apologies for being behind the times here; I'm in Australia.

Same actress, (Julia Luis Dreyfuss), as "Elaine" on "Seinfeld" and as "Christine" on "The New Adventures Of Old Christine." BOTH HILARIOUS CHARACTERS, but very similar...a little " dingy," slightly "slutty!" I LOVE HER!!!!
