I'm an especially bad culprit with regards to creating long answers.. so I definitely DO read them to the end. Except when it's obvious that the person has cut and pasted from wikipedia articles or whatnot.. then I skip over it.
..I don't mind much, 'cause I just don't take myself all that seriously, but at the same time, I do feel like I should show some appreciation to those people who take their time and answer with pride and thought and honest work =p
...and I tend not to be on yahoo answers unless I'm specifically trying to waste time. often, time that I don't have, but that's beside the point =p

No, and the reason why is because many times the poster is just spouting gobbletygook that doesn't answer the question.
The same thing with questions. Sometimes the scenario they present is so complicated and intertwined with b/f, ex b/f, inlaws, outlaws and a whole circus of participants. I get lost and usually just bow out. It would take a diagram to sort them all out.

sometimes ....
if the answer is well written and interesting, then yes, I do.
same with long questions.
If bad grammar, spelling, and the like makes it hard to read .. I totally ignore it. I make exceptions for when english is obviously a second language, though.
If it is a cut and paste answer, I not only don't read it, I vote against it, and rate against it. Leave a link please, don';t put the whole article in.

I hate the long answers.
What I hate more are the cut and paste answers!
I want your opinion, not wikipedia's, etc. If I wanted Wikipedia's opinion I would look it up myself. I'm here for the interpersonal interaction. Tell me what's on your mind; that's what I want to know.

If the answer "catches"- I would surely read it. Yeserday I even copied some to read later. But some are just dull and long.

Not the ones where I have to keep scrolling and scrolling down, especially if they are the religious ones with the Bible quotes or just 'cut and paste'

I try to unless they are poorly worded or contain too much broken English and bad spelling. I am not a question snob we do have a spell check.
