I'm mexican and this movie was filmed entirely in my country, about the ancient mayan people who lived here. Many of the actors are mexicans with a real mayan heritage.
Do you think i should go to see this movie?
IS not a racist way of showing the mayan culture?
Or is this a good film?

it is a good film. you will love it.
also, it is based on historical fact based on archeological finds in your country. it is superbly done!

It is an amazing film that accurately portrays the moral decay of the once great mayan civilization. The motive of the film seems to be to show that before a great civilazation can be conquered, it must first decay from within. The movie is not racist, it just shows a scenario that has happened to many great civilizations all over the world. When corrupt, religious and powerful leaders use their influence to manipulate the people. It is one of the best films I have ever seen. 5 stars

It's entertainment, not history. Parts of it are bloody, parts of it aren't. I greatly admire the Mayan culture and I didn't think it was at all racist. The actors do a fabulous job with very little dialogue.

Oh my god, it's awful. First of all there is no story line. They may have told you it was about the decline of the Mayan empire but, the only reason they tell you that is because if it is about that, it's definitely not obvious. It is horribly racist, and lets not forget the jesus baby at the end.
Also the fact checkers should be fired, especially the ones responsible for the medical checks.

it is a good movie But personal beliefs or what not might inflict with the actual movie, I know Mr, Gibson tryed his hardest to keep it to the Already known facts of the Mayan society

It's gotten really good ratings and i've been wanting to see it. I saw Mel Gibson talking about the actors he worked with and how amazing they were. So, i'd suggest going to see it. It has a really great original concept.

I hear it's a good film, but don't see it to educate yourself.
He portrays the baddies as bloodthirsty savages, waiting for salvation. You can guess where they come from.
That's Entertainment!
