I would like to know that one too- becasue it is beyond me how anyone could even begin to think that any of it is real and why watch a fake rehearsed performance- might as well ballet at least its a bit more skillful.

see theres the deal.

I love my rasslin and i find it no more fake than a romance novel.

the muscles on the guys are real and body building is considered a sport.

the moves they do are real, except the amount of contact, and gymnastics in an Olympic sport.

the friendship that these guys have for each other is real. can you imagine how much trust you have to have to jump 5 feet in the air down to your friend and they will be sure to break your fall and not just step out of the way?

even in action movies, a lot of the time when something dangerous comes up in the shooting of the script they yell "stuntman". if all the high speed chases on film were actually preformed by the star of the movie i might see your point of not understanding the wwf. But in the wwf they don't call for stuntmen. they are the stuntmen.

It's WWE now....

Personally I'm not a big fan of the storylines. I just like the competitive nature of the matches, even if they are plotted out. Anything where there is some risk involved will get people excited and entertain them.

Why do people like Nascar, where cars go around in circles over and over again? Same reason.

the same reason they find boxing, mixed martial arts, and other such sports. entertaining. the same reason they find soap operas, and mythology entertaining.

WWE entertainment. provides an form of story telling that goes back to the days of hercules, and perseus, other such ehroes. we look up to these larger then life characters and see the battles they fight against larger then life villians and say WOW!! thats a hero. and OHNO!! what a dastardly villianous thing to do.

We cheer them when they over come adversity (cheating, interference) and succeed. we see ourselves in them because they say that with courage we can overcome such odds as well.

its an old story as old as david and goliath. the entertainment value is to be found in everything form comic books like superman to spiderman (ps he started as a wrestler in his first comic appearance) and in shows like heroes, and 24, and movies like hong kong martial arts wirefu flix to the matrix.

is it over the tiop and sometimes ludicrous. sure it is. but hey the story of a guy running around in blue tights with a red cape flying and lifting tanks was once thought to be ridiculous also.

As a side not regarding its realism. these guys are trained professional athletes. make no mistake. they train and practice these moves constantly. they have to iun order to avoid injury. and even then it can sometimes happen to them.

steve austin was out with a broken neck due to an improperly applied pile driver. and more. Many people die each year due to their attempting to recreate the so called "fake wrestling moves".their is a reason that the disclaimers were put up saying dont try this at home. acting they may be but i guarantee you they can fake it by virtue of being well trained and practiced.

My gran used to love it she would scream and shout at the tv. I think she got off on watching half naked men beat the living daylights out of each other

Attraction to WWE you ask...
well their plots are worthless, but the only thing that deserves the points are outstanding athletes and death defying choreography. rest might be all B. S.
