interesting question. I wanna say I was reading through wikipedia and some satellite articles the other day that said something monumental about "Amazing Grace" ..written in the ..1770s?

I would lean more toward Beatles.
Tell us! I'm curious. and annoyed about RIAA trivia questions ..lost me a Team Trivia match.

Guiness says "Yesterday," but I'm willing to bet that they don't count Christmas music, because everybody and their siblings seem to have recorded versions of "White Christmas," "The Christmas Song" (you know, Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire, or something like that), and even "Jingle Bell Rock."
