I've been offered a debt collection role there and I've not worked for professionals before and am unsure if I'll find it too stiff & formal. I've worked in a variety of industries but none where I had to wear a suit & deal directly with highly important people in the company (in this case dealing directly with the partners). I'm a little intimidated at having to have meetings with individual partners, are they generally nice or high and mighty & looking down on you as though you're a subordinate?

Do you need the money or not? My past experience working for Andersen and Ernst & Young in my country, although the work is hell, the compensation was quite above average (compare to other lines of industry) and the colleagues were great!!!!! It's because your colleagues might have been the same age as yours..

About the partners, the suit, I don't think you should worry, coz you might find the same stuff in other industry also, it also make u to choose are you working for the money and benefit only, or also self contentment, which I think would required a lot of luck in finding the complete 3 factors in one company.

Good luck on your decision.....

Well, you shouldn't forget that a partner is a position too, some of them afraid to loose it, so try to be as nice as possible with everyone, others are so tired from work, that they just don't care much and some partners actually leave their positions. People are different and you shouldn't forget about it.
Business suite? Well, i have to wear it all the time and i should say, i just LOVE wearing jeans and baggy sweaters on the weekends. There are different personalities inside these suites. So i would definitely advise you to try this work, partners i heard of from Ernst and Young and others Big4 companies were all very different.
Good luck with interview!

The world-wide known organisation would look good on your CV. As long as the salary is good enough and working conditions are fine it should be okay.

From what I've heard, the large accounting firms use their good name to be able to recruit people who will work for less and longer hours.
