Why can't everyone on earth just get along, (this sounds abit dumb) but if people like osama and hitler never existed would the world be a bit of a better place too?

The main problem is trying to force everyone to conform to a particular style of humanity. Hitler tried it, moussolini, stalin, osama, ceasar, the great former empires, and now President Bush. They have all tried in their own miserable attempts to make other cultures accept their own way of living. And in that there is no respect for diversity. We must accept other governments as their way and not act dominant over each other. With mutual respect comes mutual peace.

If you look at human history, we seem to be very good at finding new ways to destroy each other and finding new excuses to fight. The main reason we all can't get along is that we are all serving our own interests and see the world from different points of view. When you get people with extreme points of view, like Osama or Hitler, then you have real problems. I don't think it is dumb idea, just that it seems to be against human nature.

There has been human conflict in varying degrees throughout history.
It's not a dumb question, but it not a realistic goal, at least for a lasting period of overall world peace.

This is not a dumb question. It is one of the smartest questions I have ever seen. I think world peace is possible, but not until the majority decide that they want it, and are ready for it!!!!!

It is a good question. And to find an answer to a good question, one must look to a good source. The Bible says that there will always be wars and rumors of wars. And it is because of what you said, our character is the problem.
