Darn, I'm sorry to hear about your pain! I hope you're getting some pain management education. If not, Google "pain management" to research various programs. You sound like one tough lady!
First, congratulations on your tenacity and pride. Second, don't let your pride get in the way of being the best parent you can be. There are so many great things someone like you can do. The college you're studying at surely offers career counseling. Take advantage of the offerings there. Much power, love and good luck to you!

Apply for disability. through social security. They well deny you at first but usually will approve you the 2nd time around.
my friend has the same back problem also if you hurt yourself at work you should be getting workers comp.
neither options is welfare. both are things that you as a worker have paid into and you should not feel bad about them that is why they are there and why we pay into them.
otherwise you could get a job working with disabled kids they are always looking for good hearted people and there are opening in every state. it is the line of work I do and I find it very rewarding.
also you don't have to have any school taught skills they'll do on the job training pay is around 10 an hour give or take depending where you live I just got a job in the field paying 18.00 an hour with full benifits!
I have donot have a college degree.
good luck

don't be too proud for welfare , that's why it exists , to help people who need it , especially if you have a degenerative back problem that's causing numbness , just at least take it until you finish your degree & can clearly see where your heading , then when you get back on track you can always cancel it .
it's a pity a few bad apples ruin the welfare barrel , but if you're genuine you have no reason to worry .
it helped me & my family when i was sick , it helped me reskill & now we're back on feet we've cancelled it

there are many things you can apply for. if you go to social services they will help you and or refer you to available jobs that they know about or they might provide you with a list of employment agencies. usually they have job referral programs that are really good.
the second option that you can do, is go to the City where you live and or check their website for job openings or for job assistant programs. all Cities have them and they are usually very helpful.
the third option you have is look up the yellow pages for employment agencies in your area and go visit and apply to their job listings and or see what would they recommend for you.
the fourth option you have, check in the yellow pages under non profit organizations or under social service organizations or community organizations they usually have good jobs that do not require heavy lifting.
another place to look in for jobs would be the same school you are currently attending, check their website or check their job center and students services.
also of course you can always check hotjobs.com or monsterjobs.com
Best of luck for you and i hope you will get better soon

The first thing you need to do is go to your doctor, and get referred for physio therapy, then ask the therapist what kinds of programs there are available to get you into a job that pays enough to support your babies without causing you more pain. Go to social services, there may be funds available to help as well.

Why not IT (information Technology)? It requires spending much of your time in front of a computer rather than lifting, and in many cases, much of the work can be done from home.

dont be too proud to get help. your kids have basic needs to be met while you get on your feet. there are programs that help you get training and help you find work public assistance is there for people like you who need temporary help.
