Coalition efforts are still ongoing in attempts to establish a secure Iraqi soverignty. Without stability, several negative impacts would occur; 1. Mass sectarian civil war. 2. Iraq would become a refuge for all radical Muslim fundamentalists. 3. Potential oil revenues of Iraq would provide an enormous financial boost to terrorist activities...providing them with more sophisticated options and weapons. 4. The predominate Shi'a population would be backed by Iran, providing Iran a progressive means to establish their nuclear weapons program, an absolute threat to the entire region.
As far as innocent casualties are concerned, no one intentionally targets innocent civilians. Unfortunately, the criminal/insurgent threat either target the civilians to disrupt the Iraq's fledgling security posture or they simply embedd themselves among the innocent population. Another unfortunate issue is that mistakes do occur from time to time. It is extremely difficult to determine who the enemy is when it's almost impossible to distinguish the difference, and the criminals know this and they use this to feed their propoganda efforts.
Why else would the criminals wish to defeat all efforts to rebuild Iraq's infrastructure and to deny it's citizens with a safe and secure livelyhood. Don't you know that they realize if all hostlities ceased for atleast a year or two that we and the Iraqi people would have Iraq at a standard where energy, education, security, and clean water for all would be obtainable by all. Eventually, foreign investment would follow, providing employment and a higher standard of living for it's people. The insurgents/criminals know this all too well and would prefer to undermine all humanirarian efforts.

as far as weapons of mass desctruction, iraq had them. they were called "scuds" and used in desert storm on 91.
the u.n. declared them illegal cause of there range and because of the region. they were banned but u.n. kept bs'n with saddam
that the paper trail went cold after like 95.
so its not u.s. fault its u.n. to blame. the scuds can carry
in the nose of any of them, bilogical chemicals, ie nerve gas, anthrax.
how do i know that they existed, cause i was in the army,
90-93 and had many friends die from scuds.
so for the ones that think they never existed and are clueless

He was hung by the Iraqis over the killing of his own people, not over WMDs. Besides, we aren't killing the civilians on purpose, that is the fellow arab neighbors over there with their death squads.
