The Islamic Empire after Mohammad's dead was from Constantinople's to Spain, after that it was divided in Caliphates. The only free space from the domination in Spain was the north where the Visigoths hide to start the reconquering with the Battle of Covadonga.

The time-line should be simple, like a long straight line with possibly the originating date of Islam of 632AD and progressing hash marks to notate the Muslim conquests.

Drawing a map to show size of territory and influence would be best done in colors corresponding to the time-line. Example: Use light blue to show the beginning point in Mecca coloring the area in light blue, then move to the next major conquest choose another color like green and then show the movement of Islam on the map, keep doing this until all the areas of major conquest each in a different color are noted.
Produce a color key to make the map and time-line easier to link together.

Wikipedia is a great resource.
Hope this helps!

go to wikipedia, research on the history of muslim. it seems to somewhat ties with Crusdaer era kind of thing.....Just check online for timelines, then draw a timeline of muslim conquest in the middle ages, try googling "Crusaders"?? Then draw a map of europe, north africa, Arabia, include the black sea. This is just side info, you need to research on the web. Sorry, i wish i could know more on middle age as compared to Egyptology to help u out...: B
