I always heard it was 16, but a high school counselor told me 18? This sounds inaccurate to me, but I can't seem to find any definitive answer online. Is there any official site with the legal drop out age in each state?

I know where I live, you can't legally drop out; you'd have to attend an alternative school until you're 18. If you don't do that, your parents could get arrested.

Goodluck and please don't give up! Sounds like you only have a couple more years to go... don't start walking when you're almost by the finish line!

I know kids who dropped out three months after they began classes and they were 15-16. Not a wise move in modern day America. No education, very little chance of getting a good position.

Drop out isn't something you have to qualify for. People just drop out. THey want you stay in school. It's just sad they're telling you something that stupid to keep you in school. Just go to school every day so you can tell them in their face how stupid they are.
