most people I know get at least 25% of the take after fees. If you choose to work for less than that (or more), I'm sure you have your reasons for doing so.
You are providing a service...Don't accept less than your time and effort are worth.

We have been selling on ebay ourselves, but we also buy and sell on real auction for more then 20 yrs and I find if one doesn't know the item they are dealing in for yourself or someone else you could be upside down.
You would have to see what the item is and what the person wants for the item. What you should charge would depend on the item and the listing and final ebay costs. I would get your fee up front. I would highly recommend a Buy it now over bidding on the item.
Ebay just went up on the listing prices. Good luck.

Well, I if they're friends I wouldn't charge very much seeing as how it is easy for them to set up their own an account and sell the stuff for themselves. There is no shipping charge since you guys charge for that, plus gas must be figured into their, and other expenses(boxes, tape, whatever) because some of the times those shipping fees are extremely high. Anyway, with issues out of the way, if you like them charge them maybe 10% and if you don't maybe 15%-20%. I think the actual stores that people drop stuff at and they do all the work for them charge like 30-40% and sometimes more, it's ridiculous.

I think they usually charge by percentage of each sale. May be 10~20% of sale price? But you realize they have those stores out there where they help people sell on ebay. So you can just try to charge little less than they do.
