RJ-45 is the 10/100 Ethernet cable wall outlet shape, the same shape that goes into your computer's Ethernet card (i.e. when you plug that internet wire into your computer). The NIC is Network Interface Card, which is the Ethernet card I am talking about. This is installed on your computer as your hardware.
To get the drivers (assuming u are using Windows), you can either use windows update (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/)
or go to the Device Manager (right click on My Computer, select Properties, go to the Hardware tab, click on Device Manager, go to Network Adapters, click the + sign, and right click on a listing that contains Ethernet NIC or just Ethernet in the options, click Properties, choose the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and a wizard will pop up, read each screen carefully, make sure you let the wizard on the internet(in some way) to automatically search for the best driver)

RJ-45 is the type of connector on the cat-5 twisted pair cable or the most common ethernet cable. You will need to know the manufacturer and model of NIC(network interface card) to find the drivers you need.
