It has been bitter cold the last few day's, I just went out to my car, and it won't start, it sounded like it was trying to, but the more I tried, the more my battery seemed to be losing juice, so I stopped, because I didn't want to run down the battery, is it because it's been so cold, that my car won't start?

I drove it earlier today, when it was sunny and warmer outside, but it's down to about 20 degrees right now

batteries don't hold a charge very well. Especialy durring very cold weather.

Not to mention, cold engines are harder to turn.
And, batteries tend to loose one percent of their charge per day durring normal weather.

I'm sure, if you got a jump start everything will be fine.

ADDED:
Oh, if the battery is more than four years old, you may want to replace it.

Cars are simple things - all you need for it to run is compression, spark and fuel.

lets look at you fuel.
If it's deisel this can get thick in cold temperatures and will not start.

have you had your car serviced recently...
if not - your spark plugs may have opened up through ware and tare and need adjusting.

has your car been sitting around a while...
the oil from the side of the cylinders may have darined away and with older engines the seals may not be giving you the compression you need.

20 is not cold. I got 0. Sounds like you need a tune up. and a battery charge too. When the weather is cooler...your battery is weaker and your oil is thicker....but I really mean cold(10 and less)
