You need either your xp cd, or your system restore disc. You may want to try and have xp repair itself, but if you want to wipe out your computer, use the disc and do a clean install. A clean install will erase all of your data, files, and documents. If you choose to repair xp, xp will be clean and you will have your documents.
see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/811151 for information on how to restore user files.
If saving anything is not your desire, do a clean install of XP from your disc. It would be a good idea to make sure you have all of your drivers for the devices installed since your initial install.
note: I signed into microsoft and got the above link. If this address does not work, you want to search Microsoft Knowledge Bass for article id : 811151 .

Your in effortless words desire is that you've a restore partition. (probable a Dchronic) in case you do then at the same time as the computer is booting up (once you spot the emblem on your pc's type, earlier living house windows starts) it might say what button you are able to press for settings or BIOS. once you get there someplace there should be an selection for boot gadget, elect your restore partition in case you do not have a restore partition then there is not something you may do.

reinstall windows, use the system recovery cds that you got with your pc, do the steps, it should ask you do you want to format your drive or leave it, format(erase) it. it should do the rest.
if you dont have a system recovery disk with your pc, download a version of xp off the net or get a friends.
