Well, I read this great book called "Out", by a japanese author so it was translated into english. It was based on four women working a late shift in a factory and the ways in which they helped one of the women who killed her husband. Sounds like a bit of a soap-opera, but it really was great!
Also, although it's a play, I really recommend "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Williams. He really portrays the world to be a scarily unforgiving place!!
