On the net, you can remain anonymous, or at least it gives you that illusion.
So posting private thoughts in a blog for the world to see actually leaves you less accountable for what you say, than if you told them to your near and dear.

There may not be too many answers, I'll try some. 1: judgment. 2: We do not talk about private thoughts so we are not skilled at communicating them. The communication error rate is higher with a stranger. 3: Strangers may have hot-buttons we do not know about. 4: Strangers may lack the necessary empathy. 5: Many private thoughts are private because they may expose some weakness which a stranger could use to some advantage.

There is some evidence to support the theory that people are *more* honest online in chat and blogs, because everything they write is in text and can be accurately recorded and recalled.

There is not doubt about who said what when it is all archived.

People would rather open up their most intimate thoughts to a complete stranger. in a way, people don't really care about what the stranger thinks. on the other hand, people are afraid of exposing what they really feel to loved ones, because they don't want to upset or hurt the ones they care about.

it's like the Christian rite of Confession. Christians feel satisfied revealing the most fhucked up secrets to their priest, but would be hesitant in revealing the same secrets to their family. they don't want to change the perception that the family holds of them.

have not you ever had deep conversations with the stranger sitting next to you on the airplane, telling them some thing you would under no circumstances even search for suggestion out of your mom about? there's a lot historic previous and judgment and preconceptions with relatives and pals, now and again you sense you would get a much more suitable straightforward or insightful reaction from strangers.

there is something called confrontation that makes it difficult for those (i'm included) to talk to friends and family members private thoughts. we don't see the other people online and therefore don't have to put up with their bullshit if they start ragging on them for a thought they had. there is only one person who i truly feel comfortable telling my private thoughts to and that's my husband - regardless if he agrees with them or not.

people tend not to tell their secrets in real life due to sanity and understanding that giving folks very personal information is risky and can lead to bad things happening.
on the internet people lose their minds and some think it's anonymous and can't be traced behind an on-screen moniker

because maybe it's easier for them to write their thoughts on a blog than talk about their feelings to other people.

Amazing isn't it? Girls can't talk to their mothers about their boyfriends, but they can get on here and talk about being fingered or having sex and getting pregnant, repeatedly. OMG this world is a crazy place and getting weirder every day.
