She might believe that even though the relationship is fine right now, it will eventually end quickly as a result of an unforeseen circumstance that surfaces.

The break-up will be fast and irreparable.

Often times we (as humans) enjoy releasing stress through such actions as laughter. Sometime, the stress of a car accident will cause the need to find humor in the situation as a way to coup.
