Depends a lot on your field, how much other work experience you have, and the amount of competition. It is one easy way for an employer to sort through stacks of resumes. If you have no work experience, then the employer can only look at your marks and extra-curricular to determine what kind of worker you might be.

If you are applying for a conventional job (office work etc) then emphasize your office skills (computer skills, organizational skills, people skllls) as these matter much more in the real world than the A you did or did not get on "The influence of industrialization on post Napoleonic Europe".
