...that homosexuality is an abomination and that we're all going to hell and that we should be shunned by our loved ones, like he's shunned his own son for the last five years...
...can I get in trouble with Y!A for replying to his email and calling him "infectious human waste"?

Oh, and not that it matters, but I'm not homosexual, I just play advocate for them on Y!A and apparently this guy assumed I was one.

I just don't want to lose my email address or something. I've been using it for years.

Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't make it clear. I've already called him that. Only afterwards, I got concerned.

If the other person files a complaint, it's possible that one of the Yahoo Answers team may send you a violation notice. But given that the guy sent you an unsolicited email and was ranting on in an obviously-biased manner, the chances are good that nothing will happen to you.
After all, he *was* the one who started the whole thing, although I think you would have been better off just to block him and file a report with Yahoo. Like the saying goes:
"Idiots win every time. First they drag you down to their level, and then they beat you with experience!" :-)

I think you can ignore or report that person to Yahoo! for harrasment. I can not recall, just read through Yahoo! policies or notices. Next time DO NOT REPLY their messages. That is what they want from you, to get intimidated. They are like terrorists or small children who lacks attention. In fact I do not reply or answer Yahoo questions by gay bashers. I simply report them as an abusive user and move on.

Well that guy is a "infectious human waste" so why should you get in trouble for telling the truth. And if you get kick off Y!A just make a new account and do it again.

I think ignoring them makes them the most pissed off, but emailing back and then blocking them so you get the last word is more fun for me. :)
Yahoo won't do anything. You're fine. You have the first email to show that he started it so wha'ts he gonna do, report you so that he can get in more trouble? :)

I'd say the best response would be to ignore the idiot and hit the 'delete' button. just like you do with all unsolicited emails (ie 'spam')
and you can change your Y!A profile so it doesn't allow people to email you, if you want.

A better approach would be to report him for abuse, he is probably breaching the terms and conditions by being abusive.

The best thing to do is to report him, or to just ignore it. Also, he is entitled to his opinion, and that opinion does not make him, "infectious human waste." Isn't your position supposed to be one of tolerance and understanding? Tolerate and understand him, then, and encourage him to do the same.

So what if you get in trouble? Nothing really happens, I've been through some race wars through e-mail. I only reported her when she stopped allowing e-mail because I hit her where I knew it would hurt.
But you should always make sure that your insults aren't obvious so they can't really report you.
