never heard of p2p...I have my dad (until he passed away 3 months ago...can't bear to remove him), sisters, friends, etc., all ages..on yahoo messenger...guess it's just a matter of preference...you CAN create a "peer" group if you want...where you have a list of ONLY peers in a single tab. And still have others on other lists...i.e. My dad and sister are under "family"...I have several friends from TX that I have under my "TX Friends" tab, etc.....but I don't think it's necessarily p2p.

if you're in the back of a firewall, Yahoo Messenger makes use of their servers to deliver the messages. you is basically not in a position to apply video or telephone facilities. Then the different individuals can not see your IP handle because they don't connect on for your computing device. in case you do not have a firewall, then Yahoo connects you immediately, and also you're traced. in case you employ domicile windows firewall, Yahoo opens the get entry to, yet you may block it through overriding it interior the WinXP firewall settings. Yahoo should be listed on the Exceptions tab, basically remove the checkmarks next to Yahoo ft and Messenger.

I think so, but not like Limewire, Ares, Morpheus & other stuff like those. You only share files with the persons in your contacts.
