I have a good friend who was a member of Weight Watchers at one time and she highly recommends it. She said she stuck to the program and was successful in losing weight.
You can attend the weekly meetings or do their online program, or both. My friend liked the meetings because it made her feel accountable.
From the research I've done, Weight Watchers has had the highest success rate of any weight loss program. It's also been around for a long time so that in itself shows it's working.
I'm actually considering joining Weight Watchers myself.
However, don't feel like you HAVE TO join a program to lose weight. If you educate yourself on why weight gain happens (if your calorie-intake exceeds your calorie-expenditure, the extra calories are stored somewhere on your body and you gain weight) and reduce your caloric intake along with some regular exercise, you will more than likely lose the weight.
I'm gearing up to lose some weight myself so I completely understand how you feel. Feel lucky though - 20 pounds isn't a huge amount to have to lose and should be pretty easy to do. I'm looking at losing 75 pounds!
Good luck! :-)

Tingly feet? Have you checked your blood sugar level? For just needing to lose 20 lbs. I think I'd be more concerned about the circulation problems in your feet. That is a sign of high blood sugar. Meanwhile, cut way back on your carb intake and drink a lot of water. Walk 30 min. a day.

Weight watchers is a great program but its a lot of money to tell you that you should eat cheeseburgers and fries in moderation and watch your portions. A portion is the size of your fist or 1/2 c in most cases. I joined weightwatchers lost 12 pounds. But it was mainly common sense, exercise, and watching what I ate and portion control. It also incourages, eating lots of fruits and veg, and drinking pleanty of water and exercising at least 30 min per day.
Hope this helps. You can do it!

20lbs is that all....Honey just cut back on what you are eating and cut out pasta, rice, breads and all sugars. Do a brisk walk 7 days a week for at least 1 hour. Drink mostly water. I did this and lost 70 lbs in 4 months. I ate mostly salads and turkey on wheat bread. Its about the calories. Now get out there..you can do it! The best part no pills but you can still consult your physician to see if it is ok for you to do!

Weight Watchers is a great answer! My Mum did it, and she lost weight every week. We both did different programs, I did Simply For Life, and she did WW, and though I lost weight faster, she kept it off better, so I highly recommend it. Good luck!

Weight watchers works very well. Lots of people where I work use it and I am friends with someone who lost massive amounts of weight with them.
