Should gang members (Bloods, Crips, etc.) be designated as terrorists?

I agree gang members use violence and intimidation to keep an entire community in terror. The only overrding difference between a terrorist and a gang member is that the terrorist has a cause, how ever perverted it may be, whereas the gang member does not.

A terrorist may kill a hundred people in one single act of terror. On the other hand, gangs kill thousands of people within the course of a year.

I have taken academic course work in organized crime, which in the cj system, we do identify gangs as facilatotrs to organized crime, both on federal, state, local levels. In retrospect to the question posed one must clearly be able to define terrorsist.

Yes because they murder innocent people. My best friend/ sister in law was tortured and murder from these kids they had to do it in order to get in the gang. It was the most horrid brutal murder ever in our area and this isn't a small area. She was a Daughter, mother, wife, niece, friend, sister. what in the hell gives anyone the right to kill innocent people. Her son had to grow up without her. What give them a right to decide to her fate? Now most of us carry guns because of this. And if they ever get out of prison I hope my Nephew is man enough not to go after them and get revenge, he has had a hard time but we tried to teach him that revenge is the Lords but I am on guard now to protect my family and myself. The Government needs to treat them as any terrorist. We need something done.

No, terrorists use violence in order to subvert a government. Gang members are fighting over turf in order to sell drugs, not trying to overthrow the government. Hell, the kickbacks to crooked cops are good, why should they legalize and take the profits out of the criminals' hands when they're getting a cut, too?
