A couple things you could try is cut out the caffeine after 6 p.m and any sweets. Drink only water. And go to bed earlier. And yes, of course an alarm would get you up. But to feel better about waking up try what I suggested as well.

Dude .... i have the solution for your problem, first of all know exactly how many of hours of sleep fo you need, say 4 or 5 hours a day , go to bed according to that, set an alaram clock thats is really noisy, like one one of those alaram bell things, then when you are in bed talk to yourself that you need to wake up at such time to do whatever it is you need to do, and the more important this is for you the faster you will wake up. And trust me i used to be one of the heaviest sleepers on earth no i do wake up calls!

zantrex-3 is a drug that is generally associated withweight loss, but it is actually a stimulant full of caffiene and natural herbs.. i take 2 first thing in the morning and it totally wakes me up in about 20 minutes.. i get so fired up i am literally ready to go for a run! (which is exactly what the drug is designed to do..)
it's a new drug, so it's a bit pricey.. buy it at walmart or target. .cheaper there than at a pharmacy or diet store..
also, some people do suffer side affects.. so becareful.
but yah, it's a miracle drug that has changed my life.. just don't take it in the afternoon. it will keep you awake all night!
take it with a cup of water, then eat breakfast about 30 minutes later.. and no, i haven't actually lost any weight, so it's not really a weight-loss drug..
but give it a try!
oh, you might also want to get yourself an alarm clock.. that will also help wake you up! hehe.. good luck.

Some people are not meant to be early risers. I am not a morning person. You may be better suited to activities and jobs that start later in the day or a night shift job etc.

Go to bed earlier. Set your alarm clock away from the bed, so you have to get up & out of bed to turn it off.
Use more than one alarm clock.
I've heard there's one out there now that actually moves on you, so you have to search for it to shut it off.
