The silly games are fun...but it also might be neat (and touching) to also do some sentimental activities.
Have each of the guests tell mommy the one thing they are most looking forward to about meeting the new little person (whether they have mommy's amazing eyes, daddy's charming smile, Aunt Bertha's crazy feet, etc.....).
When each guest comes into the party....have some nice stationary (cut down to scrap book size) sitting out with nice pens. Have each guest write down something for the new baby and then place it on the tray put out. Later on in the shower...."draw" one of the pieces of stationary. That person wins a prize (so kind of like a raffle!!). Take those pieces of stationary and make a little mini-album for the baby that can be taken over to mommy's house the first visit after baby is born. THAT will be a treasured gift....
Have guests fill out birthday cards for the first ten or so birthdays. This is really great if there are older relatives attending....or relatives and friends from far away who might not be able to make birthdays. Mommy can hold on to them....and present them to the child on those birthdays down the road. This will be fun for the child as it grows....
Don't forget the toasts......before cutting the cake!!
Baby showers should be fun....but not always so crazy and full of games that make people look silly!! The guests are attending to celebrate baby....and they are ADULTS!! A couple of silly games are okay.....but try to make it sentimental and a celebration of baby....and the new family!

my cousin had baby shower recently and we played baby bingo...and a game where we had a necklace with a tiny bottle and whoever crossed their legs while sitting down had to give up their necklace to whoever caught them...the one with the most at the end of the shower wins...really interesting...there are also little books you can buy really cheap at party city or walmart...they also have a lot of ideas for baby showers...you can also go to this site

At my baby shower, we had a baby food taste test guessing game, what candy bar is in the diaper, who can drink a bottle the fastest, and some others.

My friend played a game at her shower where they melted different candy bars and put them in diapers, they numbered the diapers and passed them around to let people guess what the candy bars were. We got to smell them and taste them. Everyone seemed to like it and it resulted in the telling of a lot of funny baby poop stories.

At my cousins shower we were each given toilet paper and had to guess how much would go around her belly.. turned out funny cuz some WAY over estimated and some way underestimated..which made her happy! It was funny.
