I am having trouble with Mario Bros for the DS Lite in World 8. I am in the castle after World 8-4 -- I can get all the way to the end of the level because I am able to see the door which leads to the boss. BUT I am left hanging on a rope with nowhere to go but into the hot lava which has already killed me bunches of times. Any advice? Is there a trick to this??? Help! ! :)

Oh! I didn't realize that you could move the rope while swinging on it..
I did get through that level and now I am currently stuck on 8-6.
I can't seem to get through the level quickly enough to avoid the lava creeping up on me!
(This game is so much fun though, isn't it??)

yes the trick is in the way you position the sliding step that leads you to get the coins i don't have the game with me but if I'm not mistaken, on the very first jump is where you will have to jump all the way across to get to the other side and jump trough the top part to go back.try that and in the meanwhile I'll try to find my ds.
