I was overfeeding my two turtles, so I started to feed the only once a day and a few snacks now and then… I just started today and they seem REALLY hungry, the bigger one s trying to eat the small one (It is about 2 times bigger).

What should I do??? Help me please

1. Make sure the tank is big enough- aim for at least 10 gallons of swimming space per inch of turtle length. This will reduce stress and aggressiveness, and offer more room for exercise.

2. Feed turtles that fight for food seperately.

3. Portion control: A serving size is about the size of the turtle's head. Baby turtles get fed daily, young turtles go every other day, and adults about every three days.

4. They have been trained to look for big meals. It will take a little time to get over this. You MAY have to seperate them during this period- especially if the tank is too small right now.

Just separate the turtles, so the bigger one can't eat the small one.

I guess it's not a dog eat dog world after all. Split em up, and toss a lettuce leaf in the water for em to chew on. I had a turtle given to me in the first grade...I was 6. It finally died when I was 17.

Have you tried separating them? I'm not too familiar with turtles but i figure if one is trying to eat the other then what bad can come of it.

You may have cut back to much on the food. Give more food and if it is still a lot. Cut back gradually so it isn't such a shock.

toss a bunch of live goldfish in there so they have to work to get their food. Also raise the temp so they digest their food faster.

If you can't separate them then increase the area where they are staying and, oh, give them more food.
