Castrol is a manufacturer of automotive oils. do you mean castor oil? that is a medicinal oil used as a laxative, analgesic, an anti-inflammatory agent, skin ointment, and antibiotic.

I can't imagine drinking motor oil mixed with orange juice would be very tasty or healthy. Highly not recommended. Especially if your pregnant.

As to castor oil + orange juice. Again, not at all apealling to the taste buds. Sounds absolutely horrible.

But, as to health effects. Again, if your pregnant, ASK YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!

You will have terrible intestinal pain, cramping and diarrhea! Most likely you will be hospitalized and the baby will be just fine!It is for inducing labor when the time is right!
Castor oil
For decades, women have been using Castor oil to help induce labor. In fact, many old school physicians and midwives swear by it. It can provide good results if you are already in early labor. It is believed to work by causing spasms in the intestines, which surround the uterus toward the end of pregnancy. These spasms, in turn, cause the uterus to cramp, which might result in labor.

You can take 1 to 4 ounces of Castor oil mixed with 6 ounces of orange juice to cut its oiliness. You'll want to drink it quickly because of the unpleasant taste. Some practitioners suggest taking a single dose; others suggest repeated doses depending on your response. Keep in mind that Castor oil usually will cause your bowels to empty within about three hours. With luck, soon after that, you will be in true labor.

Castoroil is a spanzmotic. It makes the internal organs contract, the uterus, the bowel, etc. The castor bean is deadly, one bean can kill a child, three or so an adult, but castoroil is not that dangerous. It is derrived from the bean, but fixed not to harm you.

I took castoroil in a quart of pieapple juice when I was pregnant to induce labor. All I did was do #2 all night. lol So, no I would not say it will cause a miscarriage, but it will make you go pooh! ROTFLOL

If you are trying to induce labor, go to a Homeopath Dr or certified Herbologist, they can give you natural tea recipes used by the Native Americans for inducing labor.

If you merely are using it as a form of laxative, I would not be scared. You can take up to a whole 2oz bottle and not be harmed.

um-no that is not true.
your body miscarries because there is something not right with it at that time & is unable to carry a baby to term successfully.
the only thing that can 'cause' a miscarriage is some sort of trauma to your belly (like a major car accident)
& despite popular belief-stress doesnt cause miscarriages either.

and for those that said castor oil will cause you to go into labor-that is not true
there isnt anything you can do to bring on labor unless you are already in labor-- doing things like walking, having sex, (castor oil) will only work to help labor along if you are already in one of the 3 labor stages.

Castor Oil is used as a natural way to induce labor, trhe orange juice is to dilute it b/c it tastes awful. Most women will start drinking it to increase contractions. It can cause those uterine contractions and you can hve a stillborn if you drink it before 38 weeks or so. It will not cause death in the baby just premature labor, which can lead to death.

I drink orange juice all the time and I am 31 weeks pregnant. It is a good source of Vitamin C. I don't know much about castor oil other than it can make some women go into labor.
