My girlfriend is on the birth control pill , ortho tri cyclon , and she forgot to take it 2 days in a row ( monday and tuesday). the third day (wednesday) she took Tuesdays pill in the am and wednesdays at night. Thursday she started to have a brown discharge coming from her vagina and it was also mixed with blood. Is this normal? Should she be worried?

This is normal. Anytime a woman misses a day or two on her pill, there can be some bleeding and/or dark colored discharge. Sometimes it will only last a day and sometimes it may last a few days. She needs to get in the habit of taking her pill at the same time every day....this is the only way the pill will be effective.

It's normal. If a woman stops taking her birth control pills in the middle of a cycle it will cause her period to start. That's probably what happened.

It's probably "old" blood passing. If she's ever concerned she should go to the dr. just to be sure. Female reproduction organs and hormones cause us the most difficulty and it's important she learn what her body is doing.

Yeah it's pretty common but if she doesn't get her period on time this month she should see her doctor to be sure she isn't pregnant.

it happens...she forgot to take it for a while so her period started. she has to stop taking the existing pack now...and start a new pack this sunday.

Maybe it's just her period since it starts out brown and then gets red..
