its my friend's game and after he played it he let me borrow it. Well, after i installed it AND logged onto steam using his account, after i type in the cd key it says that this product is being used by his account.. i only want to play the single player mode.. any ideas?

Yeah...your IP address is different than his, if he played this on line. Go into the game off line or uninstall the game, then reinstall and then restart your computer. Sometimes this helps.
