I cannot decide where to go! My options are San Francisco University, CSU Northridge or CSU Los Angeles. For San Francisco, I am worried about rent and cost of living over there. Northridge and Los Angeles come close, I really like the Northridge campus. But I can't choose what school to go to.

Youre approaching this all wrong...I would look for a school that would best prepare me for my career. For example, if I got accepted to attend law school at Yale and Law School of Lower Slobovia, I would be packing my bags to go to Yale even if its way more $. Weather and housing cost would be my least worries. Its only temporary anyway. Its your life...make it the BEST choice. Perhaps this may be your only chance to make a choice.

I would probably choose Northridge, its close enough to LA without being in the heart of it. You are right about San Francisco, the rent will kill you, but it is the most beautiful location and you probably would build the best memories there. I went to college about 1 and 1/2 hours away from San Fran and we went there all the time. Its a great city. What about living away from the city and commuting? Do you have a car?

The CSU schools aren't particularly selective. U of SF is a much better school (I assume you are talking about USF and not SF State). If you can swing the costs, it may pay off in the long run.

First, where do you fit in, personality-wise? Where are you likely to be happy?

Second, what is your major likely to be? You can't tell me that all of them offer the same studies....

Third, it really doesn't matter. While a big name on the diploma might help you get a better first job, or help you get into grad school, the truth is that no one cares where you went or what your grades were once you've got that first job (or are in grad school).
