Okay, ive been feeling really emotional for the past few days and the time of the month doesnt help. Anyway, im involved with a color guard and we have been talking about getting together sometime away from practice. I thought it would be a good idea if I could get a group of us to go see "fast food nation" at our local indie theater. I sent out facebook and myspace messages (I dont have everybody's phone numbers so it was easier to send a mass email.) Well Ive been sending emails to the other 8 members of my guard for three days. And nothing. No response, no replies, nothing. I even left my phone number on there so they could call. Anyway, im feeling kind of hurt and rejected. Reason being is that it was 8 people, 8 people and no response. What are those odds? Am I just over-reacting? please help

Not everyone checks myspace right away, they might be busy. Or maybe they're finding it annoying that you've been bugging them with messages for 3 DAYS. Don't take it too personally, but maybe you're trying too hard.

Next time your color guard gets together, ask if anyone wants to get a bite to eat with you (don't list a restaurant, let everyone decide where they want to go). People are more into food than movies (Maybe they didn't like the movie choice and didn't want to hurt your feelings and figured someone else would reply).

You can always call up a close friend and see the movie with them. Sorry if I hurt your feelings in the beginning, I just needed to be blunt.

Chances are they didn't read it yet. It's during the week. Wait till the weekend. Hopefully it won't be too late by then. Try to catch them in person to help pass the word. Or if you see them tell them and tell them to pass the word too. I go thru the same thing. Then I find out that even though I had plenty of time to sit here, they all have had a busy week. good luck.

maybe they just dont want to see that movie or they ignored the myspace things?

try going up to people and find out what they want to do and if they want to do it in a group.

it could be easier just to hang out at a coffee house and talk about a movie you all want to see together.

my main advice is try to be happy and not over emotional. people usually like to be with a happy person who makes them feel happy not someone who brings them down and you can choose what kind of person you will be.

I don't blame you. I'd feel a little miffed too. Some of them might not check their facebook/myspace every day. I kinda forgot about my myspace.....haven't checked it in months. Anyway, maybe they just don't wanna see that movie.

I believe my feelings would be hurt also. But there's nothing you can do to make them respond. Just take their not responding as their way of letting you know they're not interested. Don't put so much thought into it, it's not worth it. Just do something with friends you're closer to.

Maybe they are just busy or just don't check their emails often. At your next practice I'd bring it up to them and see what they say. Just try to relax and not take it personally.

May be people think you are an emotional nerd. Lighten up a bit, relationships can not be forced.
